Hi all,
5.5 gallon batch
9.5 # Pale Malt 10 oz Crystal 40 8 oz white wheat malt
.5 oz of Falconers Flight at 60,15, 10, 5, 0.
Dry hopped with 3 ounces (more than I typically do - 2 oz Sorachi Ace and 1 oz Falconers Flight)
San Diego Super Yeast
I am a bit upset with how she turned out. Comes across as a bit too sweet to me (somewhat candy like) though it finished at 1.010 or 1.011 I believe.
Bottled from keg with my CP filler. Hope you all enjoy!

Yeah. I didn't look at the description first, and originally thought it was a cream ale. Enjoyable though!

I have to say I've actually never heard of Falconer's Flight. I personally like the sweetness and thought it was welcome. What's the stats (Alpha %, Beta %) on Falconer's?

I enjoyed the sweetness as well... it was a nice change of pace. I think Falconers Flight is blend of pelletized hops. I think it was conceived during one of the hop shortages of years past. This brew does have me puzzled, with the attenuation i wouldn't expect the sweetness, even with the dry hops giving a little lemon... so much still to learn.
Thanks -Tony

Falconer's Flight is a blend created to honor Glen Hay Falconer who died in 2002. ~11% Alpha, ~4% Beta. Now on to the beer. I really light the hop flavor of this beer. I think the Falconer's Flight and Sorachi Ace play well together. I would lower the amount of crystal 40, that would help with the residual sweetness. I like my APA on the dry side. Or you could increase the bitterness to offset the body. Excellent beer, thank you.
