Hey all For my contribution I whipped up an oatmeal stout. Stouts and porters are two of my favorite styles to brew. Without further ado here's the recipe.
1/4 lb caramel malt 1/2 lb Pale chocolate malt 1/2 lb flaked oats Steep all specialty grains at 162 F 3.3 lbs Muntons Dark Malt extract 3.3 lbs Muntons Amber Malt Extract 1 oz Chinook .5 ozs Cascade Wyeast #1084 Irish Ale
Seems like an odd choice in hops for a stout but I had these left over from another batch. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Hope you all enjoy!

Great beer! Nice smooth body, I thought the hops were perfect. Thanks!

Very yummy brew... easy and enjoyable to drink. I enjoyed the hops as well, definitely think the late cascade hop edition works well. Is this smooth mouthfeel from the yeast or oats or both? I have yet to brew a porter or stout, just wondering opinions on how to reproduce this lovely mouthfeel.
Thanks, -Tony
