Nothing super fancy, just one of my favorite go-to beers. It's a 4.3% ABV English pale ale. Dry-hopped with Fuggles and Willamette. It's got a nice english malt toasty, caramel backbone, but is definitely a hop-forward beer without being overly bitter. It's great when cask conditioned our served on nitro, which I'll likely be doing with the other half of the batch (did 10 gallons), but you guys will have to settle for the bottled version which will hopefully be *almost* as good!
Malt Maris Otter base English Crystal Malt (60L) Biscuit/Victory malt Carapils
Hops Goldings and Fuggles in the boil Dry hopped with Fuggles and Willamette
Yeast West Yorkshire Ale yeast

Given all the sweet, dark beers we've been enjoying, it's great to have a solid easy drinking pale thrown in the mix. Good in the bottle. I bet it's great on the nitro.

Like the ESB, this was a great change of pace.
I think it definitely hit all the notes you mention and I should say it held carbonation really well. Great lacing throughout.
Up-front malty sweetness gets a nice balance from hop aftertaste. (For me)
Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for the complements, guys. I haven't bottle conditioned anything in a while, and I think I overshot the carb on this one by a touch. It's a bit high for the subtle carbonation you typically see in English beers, but I'm pretty happy in how the beer came out all-in-all.

Hi Chris,
This was a bit overcarbonated, and that led to just a bit of carbonation bite, but this was a small thing. Otherwise, this was a really nice, easy to drink English bitter. I enjoyed it quite a bit. At 4.3%abv, perfect to drink while cooking Christmas dinner!
Thanks,
Mark

Chris,
had your English Pale Ale yesterday. My bottle was slightly over carbonated; I definitely enjoyed the malty flavor which was well balanced by the hops. Overall a very drinkable session beer. Thanks for sharing!
