Agree with everyone here - very much enjoyed this one, Jesse! Paired well with yesterday's sunshine and a lounge chair.
Like others, the banana really stood out to me and came off as ripe banana. My tongue picked up a lot of near-candy sweetness. (to each their own)
By the time I was at the end of the beer I started to get some of the spicy notes you mention, although nothing overly noticeable.
Thanks for making (and sharing) this beer!
Best, Bryan

Jesse,
you definitely turned in a very nice Belgian style beer with your entry. The aroma definitely carried strong impressions of banana/sweetness, small head. I got some banana/dark fruit flavors, medium body, carbonation could have been slightly higher. Overall a very enjoyable beer, thanks for sharing!

This was a great first beer from the advent calendar! Jesse, I can't add much to what others have said, but I thoroughly enjoyed your beer. I don't know a lot about Belgians and was surprised by the banana even after reading other reviews. That flavor reminds me a lot of wheat beers fermented with Weihenstephan Weizen. Very nice beer!
